Ocean Club on Smugglers Beach Refurbishments

I would like to keep you informed of the plans approved

by your Board, that we believe will ensure that The Ocean Club continues to meet your needs and expectations. Both the Board and our Management Team have listened to and share in the concerns that our wonderful facility is, unavoidably, beginning to show its age. We are aware that many of our owners consider The Ocean Club to be their ‘home away from home’, as do the members of the Board. During the Owners’ Meetings, there has been an increasing emphasis on concerns related to the age of our units, and a broad array of ideas and recommendations are continually brought forth. The Board has determined it is now time to act, and to the extent possible with a large owners group, we want you to become part of the decision-making processes.
 
We believe that the best way to make this happen is to provide you with actual examples of two distinct approaches to keep our facility competitive, and ensure that we continue to provide you with up-to-date amenities and furnishings. We will accomplish this by modifying two, ‘model’ units (which will continue to be available for owners’ use or rental), so you can see firsthand the contemplated re-design and upgrades.
 
One of these models will demonstrate a total re-design, i.e., layout, appliances, televisions, etc., within the ‘footprint’ of our units. The other model will not change the existing unit layout, but will replace any outdated, worn décor, flooring, appliances, etc. The target date
for completion of the models is May 30th. We should also be able to provide you with details of any special assessment that would result if the unit refurbishment project were to proceed.
 
We will also provide updates in special mailings to owners, as well as in our Newsletter.
