Bill Young

William R. Young, President & Chief Executive Officer
After joining SPM Resorts in 1999 as chief operating officer, Bill was appointed President/CEO in 2001 and brings vast operational experience. In addition to having been regional director of operations for fifteen hotels and timeshare operations, he has also managed several upscale branded hotels, including Sheraton and Hilton. He currently serves as a Chairman’s League member with ARDA, is a past president of the Indiana Resort Management Association and serves on several other boards of non-profit organizations, as he provides guidance and direction to SPM’s team. An inspiring leader, Bill has been instrumental in coordinating owner and team member relations.

Steve Buckley

Steve Buckley, Regional Vice President of Operations

Steve has been in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. He joined SPM in 2002 as Assistant General Manager at The Ocean Club on Cape Cod, MA and two months later was promoted to General Manager. Steve also has been the General Manager of two other SPM managed properties: The Blue Tree Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL and Bluebeard’s Castle in St. Thomas, USVI. Steve is currently Regional Vice President of Operations/G.M. for Bluebeard’s Castle in St, Thomas, USVI and Regional Vice President of Operations for The Ocean Club on Cape Cod, MA. Steve is actively involved in community affairs and is a member of the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce, St. Thomas, USVI Department of Tourism, Yarmouth MA Chamber of Commerce and the Cape Cod Department of Tourism. He also holds a Massachusetts Real Estate License.

Trish Docherty

Trish Docherty, Regional Vice President of Operations
Graduating from Canada’s Ryerson Polytechnic University with a business administration degree and holding a certificate in hotel management from Purdue University, Trish joined SPM in December of 2001 as general manager of Royal Dunes Resort, Hilton Head Island, S.C. She was appointed as regional vice president of operations in 2003. Previously, she worked as a general manager and, later, regional general manager, for several other timeshare companies, as well as owned and operated a four-star property in Northern Ontario, Canada. Trish utilizes well-honed social skills and her broad experience to direct operations for a number of SPM-managed resorts.

Drew Langway

Drew Langway, Vice President of Financial Services

Drew attended Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., where he obtained a bachelor of science in financial management in 2002, thereafter working in the banking industry and, later, as a mortgage broker. Drew began working with SPM Resorts in 2007 in the management trainee program. He has been involved at the resort level, has worked on special projects and has been a valuable member of the resort transition team. He was appointed as a regional director of operations in 2008 before being promoted to regional vice president of operations in 2010. He was again promoted in 2011 to the role of senior vice president of corporate operations, and again in 2013 to the role of VP of Financial Services/IT.   He currently holds his South Carolina real estate license and is a member of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA).

Jeff Lessey

Jeff Lessey has been in the resort and hospitality industry for more than 25 years, beginning his career in Atlantic Beach, NC. He has served a number of roles at various resorts including Recreation Director, Property Manager, and Rental/Operations Manager. He joined SPM Resorts in 2010 as the General Manager for A Place at the Beach in Atlantic Beach, NC and was promoted in 2013 to Regional Vice President of Operations. In 2016, Jeff was promoted to Vice President of Quality Assurance, Training, and Transitions. Jeff holds an active North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License.

Ken Pfeifle

Ken Pfeifle, Regional Vice President of Operations
Ken had retired as a successful business owner prior to coming on board with SPM in 2002. Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, F.L. He is currently regional vice president of operations for the Hilton Head Island region and general manager of two timeshare properties in Hilton Head. Ken is a recipient of SPM’s prestigious General Manager of the Year award for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Under his direction, Seawatch has been SPM Resorts’ Property of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2012. Ken sits on the Board of Directors of the Low Country Property Manager’s Association and has been a guest speaker at several ARDA regional meetings.

Will Potter

Will Potter joined SPM Resorts, Inc. in 2005 at the front desk at Schooner II Beach & Racquet Club and was promoted to Assistant General Manager less than a year later. He continued to grow within the company, serving as the General Manager of Royal Dunes in Hilton Head from 2008 until 2014, earning the Leadership Award twice, the General Manager of the Year, and the Resort of the Year. He was promoted to Transition Coordinator in 2013, and managed all aspects of the transitions of new resorts for the company in states including Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Will was promoted to Regional Vice President of Operations in 2014 and oversees resorts in South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a double major in banking and finance and risk management. Will is also a member of the Low Country Property Managers Association.

Tom Saver

Tom Saver, Vice President of Revenue

Tom graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 with a degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism management. After college, he began his career in customer service at two chain hotels. Tom joined SPM Resorts in 2012 and has served several roles including General Manager, Transition Coordinator and Revenue Manager. He has also been involved in several special projects at the Corporate level. Tom’s duties as Revenue Manager included managing rental inventory and rates to achieve maximum rental revenue and occupancy for over 30 resorts. He worked closely with General Managers and distribution partners to leverage resorts online, to remain competitive and provide excellent customer service. Tom is now the Vice President of Revenue, overseeing revenue management and marketing efforts for over 60 resorts, but still working closely with General Managers, distribution partners and his team to maximize revenue.

Rick Spore

Rick Spore, Regional Vice President of Operations

Rick Spore joined SPM Resorts, Inc. in 2010 as the General Manager for two newly transitioned properties, Barrier Island Station and Ocean Pines in Duck, North Carolina.  He also served as the General Manager for Sea Scape Beach and Golf Villas in Kitty Hawk, NC.  He was promoted to Regional Director in 2016 where he oversaw three resorts in the Outer Banks and one in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Rick was promoted to Regional Vice President of Operations in 2017 and oversees five resorts in the Outer Banks area of North Carolina. Rick has a North Carolina Real Estate Brokers license and is proficient in business and commercial investment analysis.   He graduated from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in business management. Rick’s previous work history includes working as a State Park Superintendent, Director of Operations and Physical Plant and other executive facilities management positions.
